multi-mode fiber.

splicing commercially - available 50 um core, 125 um O.D. graded index fibers.
Viewing Optics: Rear projection screen technique, 60X
magnification with calibrated 25 um markers and fiber alignment pointers.
Arc: High-frequency, alternating current, tungsten electrodes.
Arc Controls: Individual thumbwheel settings for time and
intensity. Time can be set from 0.1 to 9.9 seconds in 0.1 second increments.
Intensity can be set between 00 and 99 (10 to 30 mA).
Fiber Alignment: V-groove alignment system with two single-axis
positioners.
Power: Powered from the following power sources
- Internal DC batteries with integral charger.
- Powered from a 100 - 250 VAC, 48 to 440 Hz source, 40 W.
- Powered from external 11 to 18 VDC, 3A source.
Splices per Battery Charge: Over 100 splices per charge with
125 um fibers.
