EMCO 7405 ETS-EMCO 7405 E & H Near Field Probes

The ETS-EMCO 7405 Probe Set is apassive, near field probe set designed asa diagnostic aid for locating andcharacterizing sources of E and H-Fieldemissions. The set consists of three loopprobes, one stub and one ball probe, anextension handle, an optional battery-poweredpreamplifier, and a foam-linedcarrying case with a manual andapplication note.

The handle of each probe terminates in aBNC connector. Probes are designed tobe used with a signal analyzing devicesuch as an oscilloscope or spectrumanalyzer. The optional preamplifier isuseful when signal amplification isnecessary for the analyzing device.

The loop probes are H-Field selective anddirectional. Sensitivity is relative to loopdiameter. For example, the 6 cm loop canbe used to make a general survey for HFieldemissions, while the smallerdiameter loops can isolate specificsources.The ball and stub probes are E-Fieldselective and omni-directional. The stubprobe is designed for precise E-Fieldsource location, such as signal traces orIC pins. The ball probe has a largesensing element and is capable oflocating weaker signals.

Typical applications include locating andcharacterizing emissions from PCBs,ICs, etch runs, cables, cover seams, etc.
