A few basic functions that the TRA2000 transient tester covers:
Electric Fast Transients (EFT) events can cause malfunction and/or resets in microprocessor units, which often disrupt normal operation. Common appliances in the public power supply usually hold conductive loads and generate interference when power is removed or applied. Surge events within the propgation path are influenced by the path itself and, therefore, are location specific in terms of measurement. Combination Wave Generators (CWG) simulate a surge event and are inclueded in EMC-Partner's Transient Tester. PQF Dips are also common events that your rental will test. With three different menu options to choose from, most interruption tests or dips will be covered. The TRA unit's functional display mirrors the computer display so the TRA-2000 can be controlled via your PC, allowing tests and programs to be developed on the PC and downloaded to the unit.
The most significant test parameters can be programmed and then adjusted in real
time to assist in finding the exact immunity level of an EUT. The +/- keys are used to
adjust; test voltage level, EFT spike frequency, EFT burst duration, synchronisation
angle, polarity and EUT supply voltage (via internal variac). The coupling paths; Line,
Neutral and Protective Earth can either be automatically programmed or manually
selected using switches on the front panel.
