Multi-Amp / AVO EPOCH-I Microprocessor Enhanced Relay Test Set Typical Applications:
One Unit of Multi-Amp EPOCH-I
A single Multi-Amp EPOCH-I is ideally suited for performing tests such as pickup
point, reach, angle of maximum torque and impedance diagrams on complex
single-phase relays such as distance, power, reverse power, power
directional, loss of field, loss of excitation and directional over current.
Additional applications include use as a variable power supply in testing
transducers, measuring instruments, watt-hour meters and other devices
requiring currents, potentials and/or phase shifting capability. A single
EPOCH-I provides a variable current output, a variable voltage output, an
adjustable phase angle setting, a harmonic generator, and comprehensive
control and monitoring circuits.
Two Units of Multi-Amp EPOCH-I
All of the above plus three-phase relays such as the Westinghouse Types
KD and SKD, which require open-delta test potential. Tests simulating
three-phase faults and phase-to-phase faults can be quickly and easily
performed. Other applications include testing synchronizing relays,
reverse phase relays and the balance characteristics of current balance
relays. Two test sets are also needed to conduct slope and harmonic
restraint tests on transformer differential relays.
Two Units of Multi-Amp EPOCH-I and One Unit of
Multi-Amp EPOCH-IV
All of the above plus a timing test on over current, over current with
voltage restraint, current balance, voltage, differential, thermal and
pilot wire relays. The Multi-Amp EPOCH-IV Timer is used to measure elapsed time of
operation of the relay under test and incorporates start and stop gates
suitable to monitor contact opening or closure, the "firing" of
a trip circuit SCR and the application or removal of an AC or DC voltage
signal. |
