The Tescom 990VDSL CopperPro Series II (formerly a Fluke Networks product) broadband loop tester is a portable qualification meter for POTS, DSL, and VDSL that provides automated tests and troubleshooting capabilities for testing conditions on a telecommunication access network, including time domain reflectometer (TDR) tests. This qualification copper loop test meter tests support for POTS and high-speed digital services, including DDS, ISDN, T1, HDSL, HDSL2, HDSL4, ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+ and VDSL, in outside plant paired copper cables. Customizable, automated tests provide pass/fail or information results that indicate the POTS and high-speed digital services subscriber lines can support (some DSL auto tests require a far-end terminating device, sold separately).

Its copper media tests identify physical voltage, resistance, and capacitance faults to help diagnose problems and facilitate cable repairs. It provides transmission tests that measure signal loss, metallic noise, power influence, and longitudinal balance to help solve signal transmission problems. Its TDR tests identify and locate physical voltage, resistance, and capacitance faults, and measure the distance to faults to help diagnose problems and facilitate cable repairs. The meter saves test results and exports data to a computer for long-term records storage and creation of reports. This copper loop tester is used by telecommunication engineers when installing, testing, and analyzing paired copper cables for use in telephone and high-speed digital services.
