Chart Recorders | Data Loggers
Chart recorders and data loggers are both instruments designed to record electrical or mechanical data over time. In many applications, data loggers have replaced chart recorders, but both tools serve their own testing purposes. Chart recorders record data onto a piece of paper, and may denote several inputs using different colored pens. They can be strip charts – which record on a long strip of paper that exits out of the recorder; circular chart recorders that utilize a rotating disk of paper; or roll chart recorders that are fully enclosed and store data on a round roll.
Similar to chart recorders, data loggers record data over time or in relation to location. They’ve become increasingly built on digital processors or computers, are portable, battery powered, can interface with a personal computer, and may even have local interface equipment that allows it to be used as a stand-alone device.
