A field monitor accepts inputs from E-field probes, analyzing their recorded data on the strength of electromagnetic fields and then displaying it for engineers. Engineers will rent a field monitor, usually alongside a field probe, to measure E-fields (volts per meter displayed) during radiated immunity testing. Four probes can generally be connected to one field strength monitor at once. Field strength testing is generally conducted by those in the EMC compliance industry, who look to fulfill test standards like MIL-STD-461G.
