Endevco's new Model 2272 is a piezoelectric accelerometer designed specifically to measure vibration at temperature extremes. A self-generating unit that requires no external power source for operation, the unit is hermetically sealed for use in harsh environments and exhibits excellent output sensitivity stability over time. Its unique sensing elements offer an unusually flat temperature response over a temperature range from -269°C (-452°F) to 260°C (500°F). Low temperature applications include cryogenic equipment and processes, and the accelerometer can also be used for high-temperature vibration measurements in aerospace, automotive and industrial testing applications.
The Model 2272 features Endevco's PIEZITEТ Type P-10 crystal element, operating in compression mode. Signal ground is connected to the outer case of the unit. When used with an isolated mounting stud, the accelerometer is electrically isolated from ground. A 10-32 UNF-2A side connector mates with a low-noise coaxial cable that is supplied for error-free operation.
Endevco Models 133 or 2775A signal conditioners or OASIS 2000 Computer-Controlled System are recommended for use with this high-impedance accelerometer.
