The Tinius Olsen Series 1000 is a versatile, bench-top unit for determining tension, compression, shear, flexural and other mechanical and physical properties. All testing functions - applied load, specimen extension and speed - can be set as desired for direct reading indication in U.S. customary (pounds and inches), metric (kilograms and millimeters) or SI (newtons and millimeters) units.

Load Indication 4 1/2 digit display, direct reading, selectable in pounds, newtons or kilograms. Provides five ranges of 100%, 50%, 20%, 10% and 5% of load cell capacity for readout and optional recorder operation
Load Weighing Interchangeable strain gauge load cell. Available capacities are: 1000 lbs. (5000 N, 500 kg), 100 lbs. (500 N, 50 kg), 10 lbs. (50 N, 5 kg), 1 lb. (5 N, 0.5 kg) tension only
Load Accuracy Within ±1% of indicated load in accordance with ASTM E 4 from 2% to 100% of load cell capacity
Extension Indication 4 1/2 digit display, direct reading, selectable in inches or millimeters. Provides five ranges of 100%, 50%, 10%, 5% and 1% of 50 in. (1000 mm) for readout and optional recorder operation. Maximum resolution is 0.0002 in. (0.005 mm) on the most sensitive range.
Crosshead Speed Range 0.02 to 20 in./min. (0.5 to 500 mm/min.), push-button selectable in increments of 0.01 in./min. (0.1 mm/min.)
Crosshead Travel Up to 29 in. (735 mm) excluding grips or test fixtures
Other Features Included Sample break detector with automatic Crosshead return and adjustable return speed of up to 20 in./min.
