The 1000A225 is a broadband solid-state, self-contained, and air-cooled amplifier designed to provide bandwidth instantaneously in all high power stages with low distortion, improving stability when high gain is required. Common applications for this rental unit are RF susceptibility testing, watt meter calibration, component and antenna testing, plasma generation, particle accelerators, communications, and driving higher power amplifiers.
A digital control panel (DCP) offers control of the amplifier locally and remotely. The DCP interface uses a graphic display, dedicated switches, rotary knob, and a soft-key menu. Forward and Reflected Power, as well as control status and reports of the amplifier's status are available through the DCP. Automatic level control thresholds can be set via the DCP and RF output is protected and monitored via forward and reverse sample ports.
Remotely, the Amplifier Research 1000A225 can be controlled through bus interface connectors on the back panel via GPIB/IEEE-488 format using RS-232 hard wire, fiber optic, and USB. Power-factor-corrected switching power supplies provide DC to the internal sub-assemblies. MOSFET circuits are used in all high power stages to improve stability and lower distortion levels.
