Dew Point | Moisture Meters

Dew point meters and moisture meters are devices designed to perform indoor air quality measurements.

Dew point meters measure the dew point temperature of an environment. The ‘dew point’ is the temperature at which air is saturated with water vapor, achieving 100% humidity; if further cooled, airborne vapor condenses into liquid, or dew. A higher dew point indicates that there is more moisture in the air and that condensation is imminent. Dew point measurements are critical for industrial spot-checking applications, field calibration and in compressed air systems where controlling moisture is an endless struggle. A good dew point meter will be resistant to all sorts of contaminants that may interfere in measurement, including ambient humidity, water spikes, compressor oil and even chemical impurities. A fast wet-to-dry response time and minimal drift is also optimal. Handheld dew point meters are preferable for ease of measurement.

Moisture meters are designed to measure the amount of water content in a given substance. These meters are essential for detecting and analyzing moisture levels that could lead to issues like condensation or material damage. There are two types of moisture meters: pin-type and pinless. Pin-type moisture meters requires users to physically insert the probes into the material for a quantifiable rading of resistance. A pinless moisture meter has a flat sensor in the back of the solution, provding a non-invasive measurement that can be compared to the dry sample of the material.

ATEC offers handheld dew point meter rentals and moisture meter rentals for products from leading manufacturers like Vaisala, Fluke, Keithley, and RH Systems.
