Temperature calibrators are implemented in verifying the performance of a temperature sensor. These sensors are usually seen as thermocouples, thermistors, PRTs and infrared cameras. Ensuring temperature readings are accurate is critical in a lab or field environment. The accuracy needed will determine what type of temperature calibrator is needed. When selecting a tool to calibrate a temperature measurement device, consider the following specifications for the application: temperature range, portability, DUT size and type.
ATEC offers the following varieties of temperature calibrators:
- Calibration Baths – High accuracy and stability with the versatility of calibrating a variety of probes. Are generally less portable and require liquid to be used.
- Dry-well/Dry-block Calibrators – Quick and stable temperature source with wide temperature ranges, ideal for calibrating thermocouples, RTD’s and PRT’s. Generally, less accurate than a temperature bath.
- Infrared Calibrators – Ideal for calibrating infrared/thermal cameras. Small and portable equipment.
- Digital Thermometers – Used as a secondary standard, these are useful for temperature measurements for environmental monitoring.
