Partial Discharge Testers

Partial discharge testing, or PD testing, detects the presence of partial discharges in high voltage equipment. A PD test is often performed both during manufacturing and throughout the device’s life cycle, ensuring that discharges or signs of insulation breakdown are discovered and can be planned for and prevented.

ATEC carries partial discharge test equipment from leading manufacturers such as Megger, OMICRON, and Hipotronics. Our inventory includes products for a lab/controlled environment as well as for on-site/field testing. We also carry cameras that see corona discharge, which is a type of partial discharge that focuses on the ionization of air around a conductor.
