ESD Guns

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) simulators, also called ESD guns, are available for rental or calibration from ATEC. We have models ranging from 15 up to 30 kV and other common outputs such as 16 or 20 kV. These pulses are suitable for simulating the human body, a charged device, or another machine.

These simulators are used most commonly in electronics manufacturing and healthcare. There are many standards that these devices must comply with, though they vary depending on need. IEC 61000-4-2 is most common for ESD testing at 16kV, while ISO 10605 and MIL-STD-883 are focused on aerospace/automotive testing up to 25kV.
