Bently Nevada

Bently Nevada manufactures vibration analyzers used in condition monitoring. It was founded in 1961, and later became part of General Electric in 2002. As of 2019, it is part of digital solutions under Baker Hughes.

Don Bently, the company's founder, also invented the eddy-current proximity probe, which measures machine vibration by placing a sensor very close to the rotating equipment. This is now the industry standard for vibration analysis performed on rotating machinery. He later made a number of significant research contributions to the field of rotordynamics via his Bently Nevada offshoot, Bently Rotordynamics Research Corporation (BRDRC), established in 1981.
