A more complex and capable version of spectrum analysis, signal analyzers are capable of digital demodulation analysis, noise figure and phase noise measurements. Channel power measurements and adjacent channel power (ACP) measurements are also used in key communication applications. Phase noise and noise figure measurements can also be done using a signal analyzer with the correct options.
With this modern type of test equipment, wider analysis bandwidths and lower phase noise bandwidths are becoming available. In wireless communications, a signal analyzer with these capabilities can be used to measure out-of-band and spurious emissions.
